Many may not care to read this or waste their time responding to what I have to say, but it would be nice to see some input nonetheless. To begin, weapon and dropsuit balances are nice. Hats off to you CCP. However, there a few notable issues that made me remember why I left in the first place.
1. Soloing - Solo players do not have a place. Yes, this game encourages one to play with others, but for those who opt to do things lonewolf, especially in the 50 mil SP bracket and up, it is just not worth the trouble. The higher Mu brackets are always filled with organized squads with the intent to win by any means possible. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it locks out those who are more casual in style from participating when they have to contend with the best. The removal of the option to join squads whilst already in a game makes this even more problematic. (Seriously, just let me hover over the Squad or Team tabs to join a squad so I can lend my WP to orbitals like before. Why was this removed?)
2. GalLogis - I'd really like to put "scanners," but they are far from the problem as their drawbacks are relatively balanced. However, scanners on GalLogis are gamebreaking. The ability to have one team know the location of every opponent 150m and out removes most sense of tactical play. The game is then relegated to nothing but a mass zerg rush of chasing down all unsuspecting red dots and competing for highest kill count without giving the opposition a suitable means to retaliate unless a GalLogi of their own is fielded. Make it so only one can be equiped as in the case of cloaks. Also, combine the Quantum and Core variants into one, remove the Standard version, and keep the Flux as is. Problem fixed. GalLogis can choose a scanner that has a long duration and high precision or have a lower precision, lower duration scanner that has farther range.
3. Lag, bad netcode, latency issues, etc. -Yes, this is still a problem. Rubberbanding and unregistered hits were common in the matches I played. This, however, is to be expected amongst online games. It's just that everything is more pronounced in Dust and noticebly more frequent.
That's all really. I do like the game and I'm willing to overlook a lot of minor issues such as rendering issues and bad terrain, but the these three things are really keeping me from playing. I assume others have left for the same reasons. |
